Re: 10% off everything at Parkers Whisky

Collector57 why do you stand up for Parker's? You go against the experience of numerous people like Tomb and myself who have found that Parker's will not answer emails or return calls. This lack of response to the customer is unacceptable for any retailer, whether they sell whisky or whatever.

Re: 10% off everything at Parkers Whisky

Sorry to add to this, but I made one order with Parker's Whisky a couple of years ago, and I will never order with them again. It may seem trivial, but the promise was all orders would ship with a free haggis! No haggis arrived! Despite numerous attempts at communication with Mr Parker, I got no res...

Re: Supermarket Deals

Sainsbury's has 20% off all 'branded spirits', which seems to include most, if not all, the malt whiskies. Pretty annoyed to see this meant £6 off 15 yo Dalwinnie, a week after I bought a bottle at full price  I think I will be back for more, however.

And forgot to mention bottle of Russell's Reserve picked up on Autumn trip to New York - massive complexity in a bourbon.

Re: Your Special Finds For 2009

Ardbeg Corryvreckan - my special find for 2009 and indeed for the noughthies decade!
Also the recent Bowmore Tempest 10 y.o. CS - much better than any other recent Bowmore bottling.

Re: Which Bruichladdich?

I've just tried a sample of the 1998 Manzanilla bottling and have to say it's lovely. Very different to the Oloroso and worth it to try something different (although £40 is quite steep for a 10yr old) Floral notes, butterscotch and toffee, very nice. The Oloroso is nice too, but not different enoug...

Re: Which Bruichladdich?

No, sorry you've all missed the point! If it's Laddie you're after then you have to enjoy the fact that they are all different. I'd recommend any of the Valinches for the reason that you never know quite what it'll be like (though of course you buy them at the distillery and can taste first). If you...

Berry's Own Port Ellen 1982 - yum - and at under £100 a real bargain (you only need a few sips of this!).
